Subiaco has had a real revival in the last few years. Rokeby Road and Hay Street are buzzing again, with new cafes, bakeries and restaurants opening alongside long-time favourites.

Here’s my guide to the best cafes and weekend eats in Subi.

“A slow Saturday in Subi is one of my favourite weekend rituals: a pastry and coffee on Rokeby Road, a wander, and then a long lunch with family.”

Drinks with a view

For sunset drinks, head up to Storehouse, the rooftop at the Vibe Hotel on Alvan Street, or Bar Banter on Hiddlestone Lane. The historic Subiaco Hotel on Hay Street is a classic for a long lunch, with elevated pub food and a great wine list.

Subi Night Market

On market nights, Market Square comes alive with the Subi Night Market, which runs until 8 May 2027. Expect international food vendors, local makers and live entertainment. See our guide to Perth’s best twilight markets.
